Partner Yoga

Private classes for friends or couples to practise Yoga together.

Have you ever received an adjustment from a Yoga teacher that helped you get deeper into a pose, like some pressure on your back in a forward bend? What about an assist that allowed you to come into a posture that you are not able to do on your own, like a lift into handstand? If so, you have already experienced the benefits of Partner Yoga, it’s like having the teacher be everywhere at once.

  • Partners mirror each other in the postures using each other for support and/or resistance, and assist each other get deeper into postures safely.
  • Private classes mean that you and your partner’s personal needs are analysed and then met and classes are specifically tailored to both your needs and level of experience, adaptable to both beginner and experienced students. If you or your partner is just starting out at Yoga you don’t have to feel self conscious in a classroom of people, and it is a lighthearted and fun way to introduce a significant other or friend to Yoga.
  • Learn relaxation massage techniques to perform on each other at the end of the challenging physical practice.
  • Partner Yoga is great way to deepen a relationship and a Yoga practice simultaneously. We can explore physical and mental boundaries that you cannot reach in your own practice alone.
  • Most of all, it is Fun!

Group Size / Length of Class: 1 to 3 pairs.
60 or 90 minute session.
Location / Equipment: The sessions can be held at our location in Balmoral Road or in the comfort of your own home. Please contact us to discuss this further. We will provide the requisite mats and props but will be happy to assist you in buying your own if you like.
